Hi Brian

I enjoyed this challenge too, and have also found my traffic going through the roof now the post been well and truly stumbled – including my first ‘thumbs down’ comments – some kind of measure of success I’m sure

It also generated some valuable in-house teaching when the editor of the book I was quoting from called by and talked us through some other ways to learn from Hemingway’s techniques – including not losing sight of our own writing voice.

I also found myself going back to the Cosmo list of headlines for a post I wrote to promote SobCon08. I don’t think I’d want to write in this style all the time but it definitely works for some cornerstone posts or times you really want to give things a push.

PS I found 27 worked a treat, but it’s because I didn’t try and add anything to Hemingway’s beautifully succinct one liners
