The offer is always weighed in the context of the awareness of the customer. A terrific package of travel bargains may be irresistible to someone who travels a great deal. Convincing customers who may only dream about travel is where the advanced copy comes into play. You could be traveling, and now you can! If I'm buying something anyway, and I've shopped around, sure I'm not stupid: I know a great deal. But what if I'm an Eskimo who hasn't thought through the implications of global warming? Now the copy is selling ice to a a wider audience. The offer is a great price on ice. But copy is also about creating an interest, a desire, a realization of an unfulfilled need for ice. That raised awareness makes a great offer look great to more people. Price point is a very important marketing consideration. But lots of people decide they need things and worry about the price later!

Ok I'm curious about one thing: is "The Offer" similar to your differentiator? Or is your remarkable difference really the tribe you target and how you target them? Or is one an extension of the other?

The offer is not quite complete. I have a restaurant client who offers Kids Eat Free Monday and Tuesday. But if the food is not good, who cares?

Domino's delivers in 30 minutes or less. But if the pizza is so-so, what difference does the offer make?

Thoughts?

The offer alone is not enough?
What about this:

"Paris US$220"

Will that sell in a landing page? In a panflet?
Curious...

Yes, it's true every time: if your offer sucks, your sales pitch will bomb, no matter what you invest in it!

And conversely, a great offer will pull the sales, even with an average sales presentation.

Offer a solution to your prospects and ensure it is presented in up-to-the-minute graphics for credibility.

Julien, Apple is killing traditional music distribution with one offer (99 cent songs) to cash in on another killer offer (aesthetic design that makes your media mobile in a way that also makes you appear cooler).

Apple understands an irresistible offer... so well, in fact, that you don't recognize it. That's genius, but a lot harder to pull off than the strategies Joyner recommends.
